A Smarter Alternative to New Construction
At Stabbert Maritime, we believe a vessel’s useful life does not end when its original mission does. Through our Vessel Lifecycle Renewal Program, we identify underutilized or aging vessels and transform them into reliable, mission-ready assets capable of delivering decades of additional service.
By combining technical expertise, in-house shipyard capability, and operational insight, we renew vessels to meet modern demands, often supplying an additional 20 to 30 years of operational life.

Our Lifecycle Renewal Process

Transforming existing platforms into modern operational assets
Our renewal and conversion work can include structural steel replacement, propulsion upgrades, electrical modernization, and mission-specific outfitting tailored to the vessel’s next operational role. Rather than beginning with new construction, this process leverages existing platforms to deliver reliable capability more efficiently and sustainably.
The result is a vessel prepared for decades of additional service, equipped to meet the demands of today’s offshore, government, and commercial maritime operations.
Decommissioning Process
- Full Project Management
We handle the entire process including towing coordination, insurance coverage, dismantling, and disposal. Owner Protection
Once under contract, Stabbert Maritime assumes legal and environmental responsibility, removing future liability from vessel owners.Regulatory Compliance
All deconstruction work is performed in accordance with applicable federal and state maritime disposal regulations.Flexible Contract Structures
Project-specific contracts are available to accommodate unique vessel conditions and logistical requirements.
Not every vessel is suited for renewal or conversion. When a vessel has reached the end of its structural or economic life, Stabbert Maritime provides a streamlined and fully managed decommissioning solution through our Vessel Lifecycle Program.
Our team manages the entire process from initial evaluation through final dismantling, allowing vessel owners to exit aging or inactive assets with confidence. By assuming ownership and responsibility once a project begins, we remove the burden of regulatory compliance, environmental liability, and ongoing maintenance costs.
Through our shipyard capabilities and experienced maritime team, vessels are safely transported, dismantled, and responsibly recycled in accordance with state and federal maritime disposal regulations.
